The ActionDex user interface consists of three panes:
-
The Categories and Sets Panes on the left side where you organize and access your
actions.
-
The Details pane on the top right where you view details of your actions.
-
The Notes pane in the lower right where you can add and edit notes about an action.

One of the most powerful features of ActionDex is the ability to organize your
actions how YOU want to. You can create a hierarchy of categories, nested as deeply
as needed, so that you can quickly navigate to the action you need, when you need
it.
You can also place actions in multiple categories. As your action collection
grows, ActionDex makes it simple to move your actions around and reorganize them
using an intuitive drag and drop interface.
In this screen shot you can see how the Sharpening category has been divided into
several sub-categories.

By simply clicking a toolbar button, the user interface can be collapsed so that
only the Categories and Sets panes are shown, minimizing the amount of screen space
used by ActionDex.
Another toolbar button puts ActionDex in "stay on top" mode so that it
will be visible even if you run Photoshop in full screen mode.

You can easily create and associate preview images with actions. A floating preview window is
automatically updated as you select different actions.
|
|
Another floating window displays all the "Stop messages" in the selected
action. This allows you to easily see all the instructions the author has embedded
in the action. VERY handy for consulting the instructions while making adjustments
in a dialog the action invokes!

|
Another toolbar button displays the ActionDex properties and Photoshop set/name for
the selected action. From here you can set the author, download website,
description, and personal rating of the action. You can also modify the notes and
view "Stop messages" in the action.
ActionDex maintains all this information, even if the action is unloaded in
Photoshop so that you can reload the action at a later time.
|
The first time you run ActionDex, a wizard will guide you through the process of
importing your actions from Photoshop to get you started quickly.
